TGHB was formed in the spring of 2014 by singer/guitarist Neal Karkhanis and drummer Paul Martinez. After writing and recording a couple of songs, namely the fan favorite “Portland,” the band added bassist Owen Brinser and singer/pianist Linette Gonzalez. The band’s first show was at Charm City Art Space in Baltimore, Maryland where Karkhanis purchased 25 tickets himself for friends and family. The show went exceptionally well and with a little buzz in the area, Baltimore’s premier punk venue, The Ottobar, asked TGHB to open up for indie rockers Hellogoodbye and Vacationer just two weeks later.
n the fall of 2014, TGHB officially signed with CI Records, an announcement that did not come until February 2015. In November and December of 2014, the band entered the studio with Eric Taft at Buzzlounge Recording Studio in Beltsville, Maryland to begin work on the band’s debut full length. The full length includes all 5 songs off the “Weird Thoughts” EP as well as 6 brand new tracks produced by Taft. Once the signing was announced, the label quickly put the band on the Launch Tour 2015 as an opener for The Venetia Fair and Icarus the Owl as well as the Launch Music Conference and Festival in Lancaster, Pennsylvania headlined by Atreyu, Alien Ant Farm, hed(pe) and others. Taft joined the band for much of the tour and in April 2015 officially joined the band as an additional singer/guitarist. That summer, TGHB was invited to play the 2015 Milwaukee Summer Fest as an opener to New Politics. The band left the festival winning the Emerging Artist Award, which was decided based on fans texting their favorite band to festival organizers.

"Songs in Eastern Standard Timing" is a strong well executed full length album by "The Great Heights Band"
We have played this album over and over in the studio and can't get enough.
After selecting a random song to listen to for the first time we played "Stay"
WOW!! Catchy / Strong and very easy to listen to!
We had the plans to choose 3 random songs to listen to but ended up listening to the full album TWICE!!!!
Every single time we were blown away with the quality of this band.
We have reviewed / heard 100s of bands in the past but we really REALLY enjoyed every second of this album.
We even found ourselves singing lines form the songs while working in the studio.
Aku studios don't say this very often but THIS BAND IS GOING TO GO FAR!!!!
It seems they have a loyal fan base as it is and it wont take long until you see this band on the road in your home town.
Keep a eye on The Great Heights Band its just a matter of time!
